Here are
a few examples of how Lauren has helped businesses to maximize
potential, minimize risk and create success.
Maximizing
Potential
For a Fortune
50 food company, Lauren was brought in to help with the re-launch
of a line of ingredient products. Playing an integral role on
the re-launch team, she directed the concept and product/recipe
tests and a BASES II volumetric and source-of-volume study.
She also oversaw exploratory research for advertising development
and evaluative copy tests and designed a shelf-set study to
support the sales force in selling-in a brand block plan-o-gram.
Results: A seven-item
line of value-added tomato products which generated $1.7MM in
incremental profit during the first eight months.
Minimizing
Risk
For a large
consumer products manufacturer of car and home care products,
Lauren designed research to quantify the risk of a potential
problem with an exterior cleaning product.
Results: Although
not what the manufacturer hoped for, results from this research
led to the voluntary recall of the product from the marketplace
which minimized the financial risk for the company.
Creating
Success
For a medium-sized
consumer food manufacturer, Lauren worked closely with the Marketing
team and the design firm to update the brand’s logo and
package design. With an 80-year brand heritage, they needed
to ensure that they did not negatively impact the look and the
feel of the brand. With a series of exploratory focus groups
and quantitative surveys, Lauren and the team identified the
existing brand imagery, strengths and weaknesses, and what the
existing logo conveyed. They also identified opportunity areas
for improvement. Next, they developed new designs and took those
back to the consumer for refinement and finally, for confirmation.
Results: They
achieved their goal of designing a more modern, eye-catching
look for the brand which enhanced the current brand imagery
without giving up any of the brand’s heritage.
